A very specific 40’ x 12’ new portable building supplied

We received an enquiry through our website for a 40’ x 12’ new portable building which was to be used as a preparation kitchen with a walk-in fridge.

The building firstly had to have an increased floor loading for the equipment and storage, so we manufactured the building with a 5kn per m2 floor. On top of this,the building had to have additional insulation to the floor and our customer specified 120mm Kingspan insulation.

Our customer also had problems with rodents so we ensured that the building was underdrawn with steel. The external walls were our standard plastic-coated steel panels and we supplied a steel Kirncroft door and frame as well.

The internal roof had to have double ceiling joist to support the catering equipment and an Altro walkway non slip vinyl in Cap and Cove.

Because of the weight being put inside we suggested that our customer install 8no 600m x 600mm concrete pads that the steel frame would sit on rather than the 4no normal jack legs to spread the load.

Our customer employed a transport company local to them and the building was successfully loaded first thing this morning, on time and to budget.
