A frustrating start to an installation
12/03/2026
On the 15th January 2026, we were contacted by Henderson Taylor in Tilbury, who wanted to extend their office accommodation space and required two open plan 32’ x 10’ new portable buildings linked together with a 1400mm linkway. They needed the building as soon as possible.
After various revisions to our drawings and pricing, they placed an order with us on the 17th February and we manufactured the buildings and linkway for delivery on the 11th March.
They employed the services of a crane company, and we went down to Tilbury the day before so that our installation team could get a good night’s sleep and be on site for 7.45am the next day. The two jack leg cabins were loaded on the 11th from our factory and delivered at 8.30am the following morning.
The problem started when our men who stayed at the Holiday Inn, got up for breakfast and realised that their van and all of their tools had been stolen. They didn’t even have any PPE.
So, we arranged for a taxi to collect them from the hotel and take them to site and spoke with our client who helped us by providing some tools and PPE. Meanwhile, we sent another employee from our factory in East Yorkshire to Tilbury with the specific materials needed to complete the project.
After one very, very long day, our team finished the installation at 7.30pm and made their way home back to East Yorkshire.
Even when we are faced with unforeseeable problems, we still put our customers first and do everything within our power to complete the project.
Needless to say our customer felt very sorry for us, but was also delighted that we persevered and completed the project to their full satisfaction.
