If you’re thinking about buying a portable building for the first time, you might feel a bit intimidated by the process. There could be a few terms you’re unfamiliar with, or steps you didn’t know you had to take. We’re here to let you know that it doesn’t have to be as complicated as you might think.
The key to a smooth process is working with experienced professionals, like the team at New Cabin Space. We’ll guide you every step of the way, from initial enquiry to the safe delivery of your portable building.
We're happy to show you the ropes, but we understand you might like to get your head around the steps first. So, how do you go from an idea to reality when buying a portable building with us?
The journey to your perfect building starts when you reach out to us with an idea.
Our team is ready to answer any initial questions you have, or simply listen to your thoughts. Don’t worry if you’re not sure of the specifics just yet. This is just the starting point, and we’ll help guide you through the entire process.
Once we’ve received your enquiry, we’ll have a thorough conversation with you. This is so we can understand your specific requirements. Having a clear idea of your needs allows us to tailor the portable building to meet your exact specifications.
Here are the key points we’ll go over:
Size and capacity
One of the first questions we’ll ask is about the size of the building. Do you need something compact like a small meeting room, or larger, like a double-stacked office complex?
We’ll also discuss the number of people the building will accommodate, which is crucial for planning. It helps us recommend the best size and layout that ensures comfort and, most importantly, safety.
Facilities and functionality
The purpose of your building will determine its layout and features. Whether you need desk space, kitchen appliances, storage or toilets, we’ll discuss this in our chat. This allows us to make sure your portable building is ready to be equipped with everything you need.
Location and ground conditions
We’ll also talk about where you plan to put the building. Knowing the location, access points, and ground conditions helps us plan the delivery and installation process.
We’ll need details about the space, as well as the type of ground (concrete, grass, uneven terrain etc.). This could affect the building’s stability, so this is an important detail to go over together.
Colour and branding
Next, we’ll get into the fun part - personalising your portable building. If you’d like to incorporate company branding, we’re more than happy to accommodate that. This could include elements like logos, colours, signage and more.
Your portable building should feel like a natural extension of your business, and this step is where we make that happen.
After gathering all of your requirements, it’s time to put thoughts to paper. We’ll work up a free layout drawing and elevation drawing that visually represents your building. This is your chance to review the design and make sure it meets your expectations.
In addition to the drawings, we’ll provide a detailed quotation outlining the costs. These include manufacturing, delivery and any additional features.
This stage is totally obligation-free. You have the freedom to review the proposal without any pressure. And remember, we’re always here to make adjustments if something doesn’t look quite right.
Once you’ve reviewed the drawings and quotation, the next step is to confirm your order.
To secure the manufacture of your portable building, we will need a purchase order and a deposit payment. This deposit ensures that your building is added to our production schedule and that materials are allocated specifically for your project.
When your building is ready, we’ll get in touch with you to arrange for its delivery. This will always be at a time and location convenient for you.
Since we discussed the location and access points during our initial consultation, the delivery process should go off without a hitch. Our team will carefully transport your building to your specified site, making sure it is installed correctly and ready for use.
Once the building has been delivered and you’re completely satisfied with its condition, we’ll ask for the final payment. After payment, the building is officially yours.
We’ll also provide you with:
An electrical certificate, ensuring that the building complies with electrical safety standards.
A warranty that covers any issues that may arise post-delivery, giving you peace of mind.
A VAT invoice for your records.
Our relationship doesn’t have to end after the building is delivered and installed. We stand by our product, so if you encounter any issues, you can always reach out to us. Whether it’s a minor question about maintenance or a larger concern, we’re just a phone call or email away.
